Procedure
1 Ask individual pupils about things they can and can t do, for example Can you swim? Can you walk? Can you crawl?
Can you fly? Distribute the worksheets. Ask pupils to look at the animals and tell you what they are in English.
2 Read the question under the fish aloud and encourage pupils to give you the answer, using a complete sentence:
A fish can swim in a lake.
3 Pupils continue the exercise individually or in pairs, answering the questions using complete sentences. Go round
helping as necessary. Check by asking pupils to read out their sentences.

Optional activity
Children make up their own questions to ask the class, using their favourite animal: Can a penguin drive a car? etc.
